COMMENT: Rich in proteins, peanut is very much appreciated in Afro-Brazilian dishes such as vatapá, caruru and efó and also in the preparation of sweets such as paçoca, pé de moleque and cajuzinho. Peanut oil is also used as a substitute for other vegetable fats.
